Hello there, I'm Jonas Englund

– Multidisciplinary
Design Leader of 15 years

Nice to meet you 👋

For the last 15 years, I've been executing, leading and championing the importance of great design through user involvement. Together with others I've taken on complex problems in a wide range of industries and companies - creating real impact for users and business alike.

So, about me:

I’m always gunning for the next product-related problem to sink my teeth into, but my heart beats extra loud for things related to the outdoors and nature in general.

Working together with others, I’ve tackled many difficult product problems through close collaboration and rapid iteration - always staying focused on bringing together user needs, accessibility and positive business outcomes. I’m dedicated to the idea that when the business gets up close and personal with it’s users - the business ends up thriving.

The story, so far

Two books from my Bachelor studies made a lasting impact on me: "The Design of Everyday Things" and "The Inmates Are Running The Asylum." They made me question why so many products are hard to use and why more isn’t being done to fix that.

Since then, being semi-radicalised, I’ve worked up fifteen years of designwork. Eight of them was spent running my own UX-agency. My experience ranges from many different industries, from nuclear tech to entepreneurial startups and public service.

In recent years, I've taken on the roll as as Design Manager; Recruiting new designers, mentoring and upskilling them, while also doing strategic sales and business development for different clients.

My approach

I lead and do design work, including user research, product strategy and workshop facilitation - all depending on what is needed to get the job done.

An important lesson I’ve learned is that there’s no one-size-fits-all work-process. It’s all about the who, what and when when it comes to design. Figuring out how design & being user-centered benefits the business is something that drives me.

Today, my mission is two-fold; Firstly, I want to find new and exciting products to improve. Secondly, but most importantly - I’m passionate about helping other designers becoming the best versions of themselves.
